Today, my youngest child had a free day from preschool. Since our house lies in the shadows of a nearby mountain, the sun hasn’t reached our home yet. We decided to bundle up and climb up the hill behind our house to where the snow was aglow with rosy light. This was our view:
gorgeous! and the mountain provides a perfect backdrop too! =)
Best combination… mountains and the sea 🙂
That’s a beautiful view…wow. 🙂
Thanks Scott 🙂
How wonderful to have the time to spend enjoying the beginning of a lovely day with your child. Experiences such as this will always be remembered!
Yes, definitely a day to remember, and since she hadn’t see the sun for over 2 and a half months due to the polar night season, it was a great experience for us both. You should have seen the look of delight on her face!
Amazing.
I love that you and your youngest did this together…very special!
We are blessed to live with the mountains behind our house and the sea below. It was fun to see her face when she saw the sun for the first time in over 2 and a half months. She even giggled with delight 🙂
WOW! What a great view.
Cheers Angela 🙂
Thanks Angela. Hope you have had a nice start to 2014. Any plans to visit Norway this year?
A really great view – and longed for, I guess! Have a nice weekend with more sunrays!
Definitely longed for 🙂 And the good news that each day is 15 minutes longer than the next. Soon we’ll have 24 hours of sunshine!
Something to long for indeed!
Kids can be so fortunate and sometimes thy don’t even realise it..:)..I hope your youngest does…Magnificant shot
One of the best things about living without the sun for 2 months is how much we all appreciate it when it comes back. My youngest daughter, only 4 years old, was the one with me and you should have seen the look on her face. She was delighted to see the sun again.
A beautiful photo and what a special way to spend the morning.
Yes, it was a great way to spend some time together.
That’s a wonderful view! We have been in Honningsvag today, February 6th, and it’s been overcast but dry. We looked at the shop but think you must close over winter. Good to have seen where you work, and we recorded ourselves on the town webcam to remember the day.
Wish we could have met each other! Hope you enjoyed your day, even if it was overcast. Great idea to record yourselves on the webcam! I don’t think so many tourist that visit here know where it is. Enjoy the rest of your journey.
Thank you. Maybe there will be another opportunity! Right now we are leaving Kirkenes. Of course, we are in Honningsvag tomorrow morning at 5.30 am if you would like to visit!
