When you live in a place where winter lasts around seven months, there are days when the snow doesn’t seem quite as magical. Our family has raced sleds down the backyard hill, built snow caves and snowmen, made snow angels and thrown snowballs. The kids have skied back and forth along our street and caught snowflakes on their tongues.
But as of March 28, 2012, our backyard still has a two-meter high wall of snow, and it’s not the fresh, fluffy kind.
So what’s a mother to do? Introduce them to graffiti art, of course.
Spray bottle + water and food coloring = a least an hour of solid outdoor entertainment.
And for those of you who think it’s not so aesthetically appealing, no worries. A fresh sprinkling of snow has already white-washed away our little graffiti displays.
It’s Beautiful!!! We didn’t have enough snow for that this year :{ My kids have done that several times. One year we decorated our snow for Christmas!
Thank you. Yes, it was a lot of fun. My son’s ready for more spray painting, so we’ll do it again. And decorating for Christmas is a great idea. I’ll have to remember that one! Thanks.
Amazing idea , Erica .
Hope you all had a great time

Thanks Utham. Yes, we had a good time. I’m sure we’ll do it again, more than once, before winter is over.
Great idea!
🙂
This is great. It’s all about how you handle the masses of snow, isn’t it so? 🙂
Yes, I think it all about one’s attitude. See the possibilities 🙂
Wonderful idea. 🙂
It’s a lot of fun. I was ready to do a mural, but the kids lost interest after they’d gone around the yard and sprayed snow, bushes, grass, dirt, you name it.
I love this! How creative 🙂
Thanks Alex! With seven months a year of winter, I’ve got to keep on my toes. The kids loved this one 🙂
Wonderful idea, and adorable pictures 🙂
